Shutdown, Restart, Hibernate Ubuntu from Unity Dash with Power-Commands
Power-commands is a simple app created by the Atareao team that allowing ubuntu user to easily turn off/shutdown, reboot, suspend, hibernate, log out and block, from the Unity Dash and eventually save many mouse movements and can do everything from the keyboard.
All actions permitted by Power-Commands are immediate, that is, no notification of any kind or you will be prompted to select one, so you should use them carefully.
How to Install Power-Comands in Ubuntu and Derivatives
To install power-commands in Ubuntu and Derivatives you need to add the PPA team Atareao ( the PPA now support for Ubuntu 12.04, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 15.04 and Ubuntu 15.10) and install the apps . So you can do this by open terminal and type the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/atareao
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install power-commands
After installation, the Power-Commands options will be available on the Unity Dash. If not, you may have to log off and back to Unity dash to detect.
To remove/uninstall power-commands just type the command:
sudo apt-get remove power-commands
