Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 Utopic Unicorn : Released with GNOME 3.12 and Kernel 3.16
Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 Utopic Unicorn is an official ubuntu flavor based on Ubuntu 14.10 and uses GNOME 3.12 as the desktop environment. It released and announced by Ubuntu GNOME Development Team with new features and updated applications.
GNOME 3.12
According to official announcement, In addition to using GNOME 3.12 as default desktop environment, ubuntu GNOME 14.10 also include two gnome applications by default : gnome-maps and gnome-weather. Gnome-maps gives us access to online maps directly to a simple and intuitive graphical user interface, Gnome weather allows us to have detailed weather information about our favorite locations.

Gnome Classic session installed by default. To using it, from the session option on the login screen select to “GNOME Classic”. There are also 10 high-quality wallpapers are included.

The Ubuntu Gnome developers have also worked hard to resolve several bugs found in Ubuntu Gnome 14.04, for example, are fixed some problems with the Logical Volume Manager (LVM), installation errors etc.
Ubuntu GNOME 14.10 Utopic Unicorn brings with the new Linux Kernel 3.16, open source driver, there is also Gnome Tweak Tool useful application to customize Gnome Shell and handle various extensions. Among the various applications of default are also nautilus 3.10 as default File manager, Mozilla Firefox 33 as default web browser, LibreOffice 4.3.2, Rhythmbox 3.0.3, X.org 1.16.0, Ubuntu Software Center 3.10 and Mesa 10.3.0.
