Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr Will Have a New Unity Lock Screen
One of the aspects that generated complaints among users of Ubuntu was the difference between the login screen and lock. While Canonical developers had worked on the aesthetics of the login screen, the screen had a lock, but functional look a little sloppy
After several years, developers have finally listened to the community and decided to unify both the lock screen and the logon so that both have the same modern look and feel renewed and useful.
The new lock screen has more features than the last. Allows users, for example, to use the icons in the system tray from the lock screen itself (to change the volume, the keyboard layout, etc.) . also allows, for example, or to access the calendar online menu to close it or switch users easily from there.
The video below by Marco Trevisan shows how the new Unity lock screen looks and works in action on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr.
