Antialiased Windows Corner

Antialiased windows corners

Another microscopic change which is difficult to notice but gives a clean and sharper look especially in HD Screens. Thanks to the introduction of GTK3 CSS-themed window decorations for Unity 7, all application windows now have antialiased corners. It was not handled by Decor Compiz plugin which was used to draw window borders in ubuntu previous releases. It’s a trivial but noticeable change.

The default Ambiance and Radiance themes will be borderless decoration in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr. The default Ambiance and Radiance themes will remove that extra one-pixel border from the all application windows. This gives a bit of sharper look.

Type-ahead find allows to type the name of a file or directory in the nautilus file manager to select it without searching in the sub-folders while the recursive search is, like the name suggests, a search inside the current folder and all its sub-folders which makes it annoying at times if all you want to do is select a file in the current directory – after all, Nautilus does have a search button you can use if you want to search everywhere.
