Ubuntu 12.10 with codename Quantal Quetzal for Desktop, Server, Cloud, and Core products released in Beta 2. This second beta includes a slightly updated Linux kernel 3.5.4, GNOME package updates 3.5.92 and Unity 6.6 with the new shopping lens and other work. Accessibility support is now also turned on by default.

With Ubuntu 12.10, Kubuntu, Edubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio also reached Beta 2. These images will continue to have daily updates for the remainder of the release.

On October 18th, 2012, Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) will become the 17th release of the Ubuntu operating system. See you again in three weeks, on October 18th, to celebrate together the final release of Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal).
