Fingerprint GUI is a fingerprint reader application based on the linux operating system that has the ability to recording and checking user’s fingerprint, allowing the user to login or authenticate using their fingerprints through the PAM module “pam_sm_authenticate.” Fingerprint GUI is based on device drivers from the project “libfprint” .

How to install Fingerprint Gui on ubuntu 11.10
Okay let’s get started, open your terminal and type the following command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fingerprint/fingerprint-gui sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install fingerprint-gui policykit-1-fingerprint-gui libbsapi
After installation complete launch fingerprint-gui from Activities> Applications> Other> Fingerprint GUI.
